This triptych is the second in a series of paintings by artist/designer Stu MacKay, titled ‘UK INVASION’, that explores the relationship between British classic popular culture, science fiction, institution and design - whilst questioning the ownership of visual imagery. The first painting in this series is ‘CRIMINAL JUSTICE’ (a metamorphosis between a Police van and a ‘Dalek’), questioning the use of visual imagery and ownership as criminal or justice. The photographic studies for this painting where taken at Bromley Police Station (whom we gratefully thank). The second painting ‘INCINERATION STRIKE’ uses photographs of a fire-engine, taken at Fire Station in South-east London. The third painting ‘ANAESTHETIZE & ERADICATE’ (A&E for short) use photographic images taken at Greenwich Ambulance Station with kind permission from London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (whom we gratefully thank). All three painting where painted on location in public display on Bromley High Street and additional work was carried out in the artist studio. Each painting was produced on 20” x 30” canvas with acrylic paint.       Back to top ABOUT THE ARTIST...   STU MACKAY (Fine-Artist / Graphic Designer / Photographer ) An artist/designer with a commitment to using his creative flair in a wide range of artistic productions. His academic background began with 3 years general art and design in York where he specialized in Fine Art, he then went on to complete a BA(hons) in Interactive Arts at the University of Wales, specializing in Installation art. With over 20 years experience of painting with acrylics paints on canvas, he has shown and won entry into exhibitions and taken on a great number of private and commercial commissions. He creates original painting that explore colour with optical effects and also enjoys reproducing famous Victorian painting from the Pre-Raphaelite and Romantic Classicists era.   With 10 years experience working as a graphics designer in the publishing industry. He has worked on some of the top Sci-fi and TV titles, including Star Wars, Stargate, Battlestar Galactica, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Indiana Jones, Batman, Superman and Justice League.   With this new series of painting Stu has managed to in-corporate his knowledge of fine art with his time working as graphic design in publishing to create new stunning iconic master-pieces such as "Darth Punked!", "Phone Hacked", "Grand Theft Auto", "Joy Ride", "Criminal Justice", "Incineration Strike" & "Anaesthetize & Eradicate (A&E)"!
