ABOUT THIS ART PIECE...
"Following on from the first painting Phone Hacked, I decided to continue the theme and start a series/triptych of painting exploring the question of ownership. With the use
of a London taxi, a world-wide icon image, the concept of Grand Theft Auto was born. I was granted permission to photograph
a local TX1 cab in the south-east of London. This cab appealed to my as the prefect cab to match my concept - as this taxi
was different from the standard London black taxi and was a stunning dark-blue, allowing my to use a stereotypical image that
was even more unique. The use of the Dalek shaped image celebrates British Sci-fi design and is also used as a metaphor for
dictator. There's also a few other reflective gems hidden within this piece and the others that followed in the UK Invasion series!" This Painting was created by Stu MacKay with acrylic paints on a 20" x 30" canvas.
