ABOUT THIS ART PIECE...
"The final painting in the second UK Invasion wave
- ‘Anaesthetize & Eradicate’, A&E for short (accident and emergence), uses the photomontage of a ambulance
in the shape of a Dalek. The photographic studies where taken at Greenwich Ambulance Station with kind permission given by
London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (whom I grateful thank). With this painting I wanted to carry on asking the question of
ownership, hence the title ‘Anaesthetize & Eradicate’. Anaesthetize means to slowly break-down the sensors
and eradicate means completely remove without trace - to my this is something that is happening to the British health service.
The use of the Dalek shaped image celebrates British Sci-fi design and is also used as a metaphor for dictator. There's also a few other reflective gems hidden within this piece and others within UK Invasion 01 and UK Invasion 02!" This Painting was created by Stu MacKay with acrylic paints on a 20" x 30" canvas.
